Scans

Baby Scanner

Can I get scan pictures of my baby?

We are happy to give you a picture of your baby on request, up to a maximum of 3 pictures. Please be aware that it is not always possible to obtain a good picture of your baby if she/he is lying in an awkward position.

Will I be told the sex of my baby?

If you would like to know the sex of your baby, please ask and the sonographer will look and see if this is possible. Please be aware that we will not always be able to see if the baby is a boy or a girl particularly if she/he is lying in an awkward position. Please also understand that we cannot be 100% certain when we say if it is a boy or a girl. We will not offer a scan simply to determine the sex of the baby.

Can I bring someone with me for the scan appointment?

Due to small size of many of our rooms only one adult may accompany you in for the ultrasound. We suggest you do not bring young children with you because they can be a distraction for both you and the sonographer. No videoing or photos are permitted during the examination. Please see our Covid-19 information page for the most up to date visiting guidance.
