Your brace with us

Bracing (Orthotics)

In clinic we discuss whether bracing is a good option for your spine condition. If you decide to have a brace, the orthotists and surgeons work with you to make your personal treatment plan.

A spinal brace is prescribed for a number possible reasons. (1) To slow your spinal curve to prevent the need for you to have an operation / surgery. (2) To slow your spinal curve to delay an operation / surgery until you are older. (3) Help with your posture. (4) Help any pain your spinal curve causes.

Wearing a brace can avoid an operation / surgery. We will let you know if this might work for you. It depends on things like your age, if there is a cause for your spine curve and how bad the curve is.

Overall, we want to make your outcome of your treatment the best we can.
