As a service we pride ourselves on making the spinal surgery we carry out as safe as possible. Part of this is to protect the function of the spinal cord and nerves to avoid any paralysis. There is a team dedicated to this specific task.
This part of the web site is about them and what they do. This type of work is called Intra-Operative Monitoring (IOM) or Spinal Cord Monitoring (SCM).
