Finding out you might be pregnant can bring up a range of thoughts and feelings. If you’re uncertain about what to do next, you’re not alone—and support is available.
Confirming whether or not you are pregnant can usually be done with a home pregnancy test. These testing kits are very accurate and can be bought from a pharmacy or supermarket. If you prefer, you can also talk with your GP.
If you live in Lothian, have had a positive pregnancy test and are unsure if you wish to continue with the pregnancy, you can discuss it with staff at the Choices Clinic at Chalmers Sexual Health Centre. Your decision and your treatment are confidential matters between you and the healthcare team.
The clinic can be contacted by phoning 0131 536 1070 Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) 9am-3pm.
If you are in crisis and urgently need to talk to someone, call NHS 24 on 111.
