Care Home and Care at Home Conference 2022 – Post Conference

On 22nd of September 2022 the first ever Lothian Care Home and Care at Home Conference 2022 was held at Murrayfield Stadium.

We’d like to extend a HUGE thank you to all who attended and those who contributed their knowledge and skills to the day.

What happened on the day?

We’d like to share some of the moments from the day for those who could not make it or indeed for those who loved it so much they want to revisit certain aspects of it.

Information Posters

Some teams created posters to illustrate what their team does, a specific project or topic of interest – below are some of the 16 wonderful creations.

All attendees were able to vote for their favourite poster – please see the section “A Little Bit Extra – Vaccine Bus & Competitions” for the results!

Information Stalls

Many teams came along to showcase their work and give information on certain topics – below are are some of the 21 wonderful stalls that were there.

Speakers

Speakers gave talks on a variety of topics. There were talks in the main room which everyone attended. Then there were four breakout rooms in both the morning and the afternoon – each room had three different speakers for each time of day and attendees pre-booked which rooms they’d like to attend.

East Lothian Vaccination Bus

As well as the many speakers, stall holders and poster makers the conference was attended by East Lothian’s vaccination bus!

The bus provided a number of people their Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations.

It was so popular it stayed passed it’s booked time to try to give as many vaccinations as possible!

Just a bit of fun!

Poster Competition

Some teams created posters to illustrate what their team does, a specific project or topic of interest.

All attendees were able to vote for their favourite poster. Relevant criteria for voting included:

  • Visual appeal
  • Clarity and legibility
  • Succinctness
  • Clear presentation of the key findings and conclusions
  • Suitable and clear use of figures/charts/tables
  • Potential service impact of the project

The winner was – “Tissue Viability Education in Care Homes” by the Tissue Viability Team.

Scavenger Hunt Anagram

Letters were hidden around the stalls hall and attendees collated these to form a word connected to the conference .

Winners were selected at random from correct answers.
