Counselling

Stress and anxiety, whether it be work-related or not may have an effect on an employee’s ability to deliver effective service and may result in absence from work.

Our Counselling Service can give staff an opportunity to explore, discover and clarify ways of moving towards greater well-being. They will work together with the Counsellor within an agreed contract.

The counsellor will contract to keep confidential the identity of the client and the content of any sessions, except in the most extreme circumstances and usually only after discussion with the client.

All Counsellors in this service are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (B.A.C.P.) and the service is an organisational member of COSCA. All Counsellors work within BACP and COSCA guidelines and are subject to the Complaints Procedure of BACP and COSCA. They receive ongoing independent supervision of their work to ensure client safety and satisfaction.

This service offers short term counselling of around 6 sessions over a period of time agreed between client and counsellor. Each session lasts approximately one hour.
