Asbestos Medicals

Carried out by an HSE appointed Doctor, these medicals include an examination of the chest, a lung function test and, if deemed necessary, a chest X-ray. The purposes of this medical are to advise the employee regarding their fitness to work with asbestos, to give them information on their current state of health and to inform them if any early signs of disease are picked up. Advice on continued exposure and any specific situations which may require the use of a special respirator is also provided.
