SBIVA Trial

SBIVA Study – 7v14 days IV antibiotics for exacerbation of Bronchiectasis. The study compares which duration of IV antibiotics treatment is superior – defined as the length of time to next needing an antibiotic.

Prof Hill in NHS Lothian is running the study and over 20 hospitals UK wide are taking part. We are looking to recruit 400 patients UK wide.

If you are admitted to a hospital in NHS for an exacerbation of Bronchiectasis and need IV antibiotics one of our Research team will come and discuss the study with you. We also recruit patients being treated with IV antibiotics in the community and through our OPAT service – again the team will discuss the study with you if suitable.
