Support Group

A support group for bronchiectasis patients and their carers – “Breathtakers – Action for Bronchiectasis”  was set up in 2010 – under an initiative from Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh bronchiectasis clinic headed by Dr Adam Hill – now Professor Adam Hill.  It is run by a small grouping of patient volunteers.

The aim of the group is to:

  • aid rehabilitation
  • improve and maintain quality of life
  • promote awareness of bronchiectasis

Our aim is to be open, encouraging and informative.  The group currently meets once a month on a Wednesday afternoon at 3pm at the Institute of Regeneration and Repair Building (on the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh site) Click here for a link to this year’s timetable.

Each month two members of the Support Group Committee set up an information “clinic table” on a Thursday afternoon in OPD3 at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
