Patient Experiences

The Heart Manual Programme has been developed and is updated with the support of our Patient Involvement group (PIHM). The PIHM group help us to understand and see things from the patient perspective, ensuring information in the Heart Manual Programme addresses issues important to patients.

Here are some of the things patients who have engaged in cardiac rehabilitation (using the HM) have said helped them, and some of the changes they have been able to make:

“Learning to be more relaxed, even more thoughtful about what I eat”

“I feel more positive”

“Understand aches and pains better. How to cope.”

“I eat healthier, walk more, listen to my body more.”

“Helped me stick to a target”

“Exercise and goal setting every day. Improved diet. Less worried and looking forward to the future.”

These changes may seem small, but they can make a big difference to your quality of life and allow you to enjoy life, stay positive and live healthier. They can also impact positively on others around you too.
