Stroke TIA Clinic Visit

People are usually referred to the clinic nearest their home, as there are clinics at each of the hospitals. However, we aim to see patients within 4 days of their event, so you may be given an appointment at a hospital which is not your nearest.

General Information

Most people will be referred to the clinics by their GP.  Others are referred by a doctor in the hospital. People may have attended the A&E department at one of the hospitals or the Eye Pavilion.

We try wherever possible to carry out any tests needed on the same day as the clinic appointment. Therefore patients should be prepared to spend up to three hours at the hospital.

What are stroke TIA clinics

These outpatient clinics deal with people who have had symptoms which might be due to a stroke or mini stroke. However, many people who attend the clinic are found to have had less serious illness such as migraine.

How to get there
