Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening

Information for Trans Persons / Non-Binary

Eligibility and how to access AAA Screening.

AAA Screening

Transgender Women

If you are a trans woman aged 65 or older, you are still at higher risk of having an AAA and are eligible for AAA screening.

If you’ve changed your CHI number to reflect your female gender on or before 14 June 2015, you should contact your local AAA screening centre for a self-referral.

Transgender Men

You are less likely to have an AAA if you are a transgender man aged 65.

If you have changed your CHI number, you will be automatically invited and can choose whether you would like to attend.
