Welcome to Ward 12 at St John’s Hospital, Livingston. Our department is a 6 bedded inpatient area providing care for patients requiring elective or emergency gynaecology treatment. Our dedicated team is committed to delivering care in a supportive, respectful and compassionate environment, with your comfort, safety and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
What We Do
Urodynamics involves a series of diagnostic tests that help us understand how Ward 12 provides specialist inpatient gynaecology care 24 hours a day for patients who require a hospital stay. This includes planned surgical procedures as well as the assessment and treatment of acute gynaecological emergencies.
In addition to our inpatient service, we operate a 24‑hour emergency gynaecology triage area, where patients are assessed promptly and efficiently, ensuring timely access to safe, high‑quality care.
Our highly trained and experienced staff work closely together to deliver personalised care, maintaining a strong focus on dignity, respect and compassion throughout every patient’s journey.
Referral Process
Planned admissions to Ward 12 are usually arranged following an outpatient assessment by a Gynaecology team. Emergency admissions are via referral from a GP, Emergency Department, NHS24 or another hospital speciality.
