What We Do
The Gynaecology Outpatient department provides a wide range of services including new patient consultations, follow up appointments and specialist clinics.

- Colposcopy (investigations for abnormal smears)
- Urogynaecology (bladder dysfunction and incontinence)
- Termination of pregnancy
- Rapid access oncology clinics
- Fertility and recurrent miscarriage investigations
- Menopause and HRT management
- General gynaecology services (menstrual disorders, pelvic pain and disorders of the skin)
Patients experience
Appointments include consultation, consent, examination (abdominal/vaginal), we offer a see and treat service which may include a small biopsy being taken. There may also be a need during your visit to have blood drawn.
All the above are supported by our dedicated and hard-working nursing staff who will do their best to ensure your dignity and manage any anxieties you may be feeling during your visit.
Referral Process
Patients are referred by their Gp or by other health care professionals. Most appointments are generated by our dedicated waiting list team and based on clinical priority. (The termination of pregnancy appointments are generated through Chalmers choices based in Edinburgh).

The Gynaecology OPD 3 is located within the ground floor of St John’s Hospital, Livingston.
Monday – Thursday (9am-5pm)
Friday – (9am – 14.00pm)
