Delivering Early Breastfeeding Support

DEBS is a quality improvement project running since 2020 in specific areas across Lothian. It provides breastfeeding education antenatally and support after birth.

What Does DEBS Offer?

If DEBS is available in your area, you will be invited to join at your 28 week midwife appointment.

Support includes:

Antenatal Education.

Group Sessions (virtual or face to face).

One to one virtual sessions if needed.

One to one hospital visit at around 24 hours following birth.

Telephone support offered until your baby is 28 days old.

Why Join?

Breastfeeding can feel overwhelming, especially in the early days. Some women stop sooner than they want to due to early challenges.

DEBS offers extra support to help you feel confident and supported.
