Allergies

Woman kissing Baby

The symptoms of a food allergy can develop within a few seconds or minutes after consuming food or drink and can appear hours or days later.

Anaphylaxis

In very rare cases, people may experience an anaphylactic reaction which can be life-threatening. More details about allergy symptoms can be found on the NHS Choices ‘Information on Allergies’ website.

If you think your baby is experiencing anaphylaxis; dial 999.

Long term symptoms

If long term symptoms persist you should seek advice from your Health Visitor or Family Nurse in the first instance. They can work with you and other health professionals (such a Paediatric Dietitians and GPs) to get to the cause of what this could be and how best to manage this.
