Cystic Fibrosis Research- April 2024

Research plays an essential role in the progression of CF care and in the last few years there have been major advances in treatment for many of the CF community. We are continuing to strive to improve the lives of all people with CF through research.

In Edinburgh we are part of the CTAP ( Clinical Trials Accelerator Programme) which is a UK-wide initiative bringing together NHS cystic fibrosis (CF) centres to support people with CF to access and participate in CF clinical trials. We work closely with our colleagues across Scotland so are happy to take referrals from other areas other than Lothian for studies we are running  and also we can refer into other centres who may be running trials we are not participating in.

There are always opportunities to take part in research. The Trials Tracker  will give information about what studies are running in Edinburgh and the rest of the UK and clinical trials booklet will give more information about what is involved.

For more information about studies you may wish to join or just a chat about research and how you can help please contact us :
