Getting to know your hearing aids

Your hearing aids are ready to use and designed to automatically adjust to your sound environment.

PARTS OF HEARING AID

  1. Battery Door: this is where the battery is inserted. Opening it turns off the device, while closing it turns it on.
  2. Volume Button: this button can be used for manual adjustments, changing volume levels. You may be given separate instructions to show you what your hearing aid can do.
  3. Program Button: this button can be used for manually switching programs. You may be given separate instructions to show you what your hearing aid can do.
  4. Slim Tube: this tube delivers sound from the hearing aid to the ear. There is a dome on the end that fits into your ear canal.
  5. Retention Wire: helps keep the hearing aid in place.
  6. Hook: if you require an ear mould, the hook connects the hearing aid device to the tubing and ear mould.
  7. Earmould: Custom-fitted to your ear.
