Visual Field Assessment

What to expect from your fields test?

Visual  fields tests are conducted in a private room by a trained member of staff.

During the test the room is kept dark to ensure reliable responses are recorded. You will be required to complete the test for each eye individually, pressing a buzzer as you see lights on the screen.  Occasionally you might be required to perform the test with both eyes open.

If you have any difficulty during the test, please let the practitioner know.

For those requiring interpretation services; the interpreter can sit in for the visual fields test.

What to bring to your visual field test?

Please ensure you have the following:

  • Current distance and reading glasses
  • A copy of your opticians prescription
