Orthoptic  Exercises

If you have commenced any orthoptic exercises, your orthoptist should have outlined how the exercises should be completed.

You should follow the regime as frequently as suggested by the orthoptist. At your review appointment, the orthoptist will check that the exercises have worked and look for any improvement.

There are a number of different orthoptic exercises, the leaflets found below can help with completion of your suggested exercise.

Fresnel Prisms

Prisms attach to your glasses to aid the symptom of double vision where the correct prism is cut to fit the shape of your glasses and adheres with water and stays in place with suction. It is normal to find that your vision may be a little blurred with the additional layer on your glasses.

Your prism can be maintained with warm soapy water. The use of harsh chemical should be avoided to ensure the longevity of the prism.
