FAQ- Paediatric Services

Children’s Glasses

Children should wear any prescribed glasses on a full time basis, unless advised otherwise by your eye specialist. This is to ensure the eye is provided with a clear image in which the vision can develop.

See our information leaflet on glasses

Patching (Occlusion Treatment)

If your orthoptist has prescribed your child a period of patching treatment, you should aim to complete the number of hours advised. This should usually be worn over the better seeing eye to promote the weaker eye to develop. If you need further advice about patching or require additional patches to be sent in the post, please do not hesitate to contact the Orthoptic Department.

Please see our Contact Us page.

See our information leaflet on patching.
