Smoking and arthritis

There are several reasons why you should seriously consider stopping smoking.  Not only will it improve your inflammatory arthritis, it will also improve the effectiveness of your treatment. Stopping smoking will have many other benefits for you, including reducing your infection risk.

You can check the following  information from the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS):

Our Rheumatic diseases unit has developed a referral pathway to support quitting smoking in partnership with the  Lothian Smoking Cessation team. Speak to your GP or one of our Rheumatology team and will be happy to assist with this.
