DCN Acute Neuropsychology

Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
The Acute Neuropsychology service is based at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Acute Neuropsychology provides support to adults who have recently sustained a neurological injury or illness. It is also available to those who are experiencing an acute problem related to a chronic neurological condition. The service assesses cognition, psychological well-being and behavioural change. Cognitive rehabilitation and psychological therapies for difficulties related to those neurological illnesses and injuries are also available.

Individuals who use this service have a DCN consultant and are either inpatients on the DCN neurology or neurosurgery wards, or who live at home and visit the department as an outpatient.
