How we feel impacts how we think, and how we think impacts how we feel. Because of this, during difficult, threat-focused times in our lives, we can easily become stuck in a vicious cycle where our distress fuels unhelpful thoughts, which in turn cause more distress. This video explores:
- Thoughts
- Unhelpful thinking loops/our tricky brain
- Using mindfulness and self-compassion to get unstuck
There are mindfulness and self-compassion audio files on this alternative NHS Lothian webpage which can be downloaded and listened to (https://services.nhslothian.scot/lcps/compassion-focused-therapy-audio-tracks/)
