About Wellbeing Lothian

Welcome! The Wellbeing Lothian website has been developed to provide information, self-help resources and links to help you manage your mental health and wellbeing.

People often tell us that it is not usually one thing – but many things – that helps them improve or maintain their wellbeing or mental health. We know that speaking to someone or receiving individual therapy can help. However, this is not always the right option for everyone and there are lots of ways to get help and feel better. There is so much information available online but knowing what is good quality and tried and tested by other people can feel overwhelming. We also know that people want access to this information when it suits them. Getting linked to services and organisations close to where you live is important too.

We want to help you make changes in your own lives and point you in a direction to start doing so. This is Wellbeing Lothian’s aim.

Wellbeing Lothian offers a range of written articles, self-help guides, video and audio recordings which cover a range of common topics about wellbeing and mental health. Physical wellbeing is clearly linked to our emotional wellbeing, so we have also included common topics such as sleep, pain, fatigue and weight management.

Wellbeing Lothian also gives you access to a range of evidence-based online courses such as computerised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. These courses use the best evidence and exercises from commonly used, effective treatments for problems such as depression, anxiety and health issues. These can be accessed quickly and in the comfort of your own home.

How to use Wellbeing Lothian

The website is designed to be flexible, you don’t have to use it in any particular order and you can visit as many times as you need.

You might know exactly what you are looking for, but if you are not sure, then perhaps type a word or words about what is happening or how you are feeling into the Search – this will bring up our most used resources or best match.

Our Learn, Assess and Manage sections give you access to a range of information, personal experiences and management tips and strategies. Our Support sections point you to relevant services, organisations in your local area and beyond.

We would encourage you to have a look around and come back as we will be adding new resources and options for support. Your feedback is important to us – let us know what you find helpful or not, or want to see on the website  Contact Us.
