NHS Lothian aims to support nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, pharmacists, clinical psychologists and healthcare scientists (NMAHPPS) to be actively engaged in research through pursuing doctoral level studies. This includes PhDs, Clinical Doctorates, Professional Doctorates, Doctorate at Work programmes.
The Doctoral Network is open to any of the following NHS Lothian NMAHPPS:
- Those with a doctoral qualification
- Those undertaking a doctoral qualification
- Those who aspire to undertake a doctoral qualification
In addition to regular email communication about relevant funding, training and learning opportunities, there are four Doctoral Network meetings each year that take place on Microsoft Teams. These meetings are an informal opportunity for networking and discussion regarding clinical academic careers. They usually involve a presentation by a member of the Network on their own research activity.
