NHS Lothian aims to support nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, pharmacists and healthcare scientists (NMAHPPS) to be actively engaged in research through pursuing research masters and doctoral level studies. This includes MRes, PhDs, Clinical Doctorates, Professional Doctorates, Doctorate at Work programmes.
The Researcher Network is open to any of the following NHS Lothian NMAHPPS:
- Those with a masters in research or doctoral qualification
- Those undertaking a masters in research or doctoral qualification
- Those who aspire to undertake a masters in research doctoral qualification
- Those undertaking or have completed a Lothian Clinical Academic Research Gateway Award
In addition to regular email communication about relevant funding, training and learning opportunities, there are four Doctoral Network meetings each year; two on Microsoft Teams and two in person. These meetings are an informal opportunity for networking and discussion regarding clinical academic careers. They usually involve a presentation by a member of the Network on their own research activity.
