Robot assisted radical prostatectomy surgery

You may be on the waiting list to undergo Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy surgery  (RARP)following a prostate cancer diagnosis. If so, you will be allocated an appointment to come and see us in Urology Physiotherapy prior to your surgery. This appointment is to discuss pelvic floor exercises and the effects that the surgery will have on your waterworks.

Whilst you wait for this appointment, please look through the video below that covers some of the content that we discuss in the appointment. It will also allow you to get started on your pelvic floor exercsies nice and early!

What can you do?

After your Surgery

If you have already had your RARP surgery then you may find the below video useful to guide you in the initial weeks following your surgery. You may well see us at your post-operative consultant appointment to further discuss your after care.

What can you do?

Erectile Dysfunction Service

Erectile dysfunction is not being able to gain or maintain an erection. Premature ejaculation is ejaculation during sexual activity sooner than you or your partner would like. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that pelvic floor exercises can help with sexual problems. Please watch the videos and look at the Prostate Scotland pelvic floor exercsies leaflet to help you in finding your pelvic floor muscles and getting started with the exercises.

Following your surgery you may wish to be referred to our erectile dsyfunction service. Please see the details below for our team members:
