The Emergency Department at Saint John’s Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides high quality emergency care to adults and children of all ages.
Shortly after your arrival at the department you will be assessed by an experienced triage nurse to determine the severity of your condition. When appropriate, patients with more severe conditions will be prioritised and may be seen sooner than those who arrived earlier.
As the department can be very busy and it is important that we are always able to provide care for emergency conditions, the Emergency Department does not provide the following:
- Telephone advice
- Treatment of minor illnesses
- Second opinions on pre-existing conditions
