Families
Having a baby can be a very intense and demanding time in anyone’s life. It is extremely common for parents and carers to feel overwhelmed and stressed at times.
We hope this website provides a helpful source of reliable information for families with babies and infants up to 36 months. The information shared is guided by the latest up to date research on infant and parent relationships, child development and mental health, and neuroscience. This includes how to understand babies and how to develop a strong bond with them, as well as other topics such as sleeping, toileting and feeding.
If you need further support for these or any other issues, please speak with your Health Visitor or Family Nurse. If you do not know who they are contact your GP surgery and they will be able to advise you.
If you feel you may harm your baby because of his/her constant crying, get help immediately.

The most important thing you can give your baby is your presence, ‘being with’ and enjoying them.
Sleep is a developmental process and our sleep needs change throughout our lifetimes.
Babies and children learn and discover the world through their senses.
Every child is different; they learn to walk and talk at different times and they learn how to use the toilet at different times too.
Feeding patterns shift and change throughout the first 3 years of life.
We know the crucial role that Dads can play in building a positive and healthy relationship with their infant.
