The Voice of Nurses and Midwives in NHS Lothian
A committee where nurses and midwives from across Lothian represent their professions, are heard, and through professional engagement enable collaborative implementation of plans that develop the professions, boost morale and ultimately improve person centred care and patient outcomes.
LANMAC is a mandatory committee in NHS Lothian – this means we are required to have a professional advisory committee that reports into the Area Clinical Forum, which is made up of the chairs of similar committees that represent other professional groups (e.g. medicine, AHPs, healthcare science, pharmacy etc.)
LANMAC is chaired by Prof Juliet MacArthur, Chief Nurse Research & Development and there are four vice-chairs. Lorna Armstrong, PA to Deputy Director of Nursing provides administrative support. There are currently 70 members of LANMAC from across NHS Lothian and our academic and education partners.
