Welcome to our NHS Lothian Nursing and Midwifery Website

We are proud to be launching our new Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan (2023 – 2028) Connecting our Communities, Realising our Ambitions, which provides a roadmap to make NHS Lothian a great place to work and a great place to be cared for.

The NHS Lothian Nursing and Midwifery Workforce

Nurses and midwives provide care and treatment across all our services in Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian.
We employ more than 12,000 people in registered and support nursing and midwifery roles, providing care to a population of more than 850,000 people.
