This research study is trying to better understand how to improve the diagnostic processes in the NHS for Alzheimer’s Disease dementia by introducing blood-based biomarker tests and digital memory and thinking tasks.
What Happens In This Study?
If you are currently waiting to be seen by the NHS Lothian Memory Assessment and Treatment Service, you may be offered the chance to take part in this study. This would give you access to additional tests to investigate your memory or thinking concerns, on top of your standard NHS care.
Can I Join This Study?
To take part in this research study, you must meet these 5 requirements:
- Your Diagnosis: You must NOT have a diagnosis of dementia.
- Your Age: You are 50 years old, or older.
- Your Symptoms: You must be on the waiting list to see the NHS Lothian Memory Assessment and Treatment Service to investigate problems with your memory and/or thinking.
- Your Permission: You must be able to understand what happens in the study and sign a form (called informed consent) to say you agree to join.
- Your Time: You must do your best to attend all your study visits, and follow the rules of the study until it ends.
Study Length: 1 year
Number of appointments: 3 visits, plus your standard care appointments with NHS Lothian Memory Assessment and Treatment Service
