Unit Access
- Currently parent passes and visitor passes available on admission to unit with your baby and supplied by nurse at bedside.
- Wheelchair and pram accessible. Elevator is around from the corridor leading to SCBU
- Doors to SCBU are locked at all times. To gain access, please use the doorbell and a member of staff will release the door. Please be patient at busy times, we will open the door as quickly as possible. You will be asked to identify yourself; this is a safety precaution so that we are aware of who is visiting at all times. NHS Lothian is not responsible for loss of valuables and personal belongings. SCBU has lockers are available within the family rooms.
Visiting
- Parents have 24hr access. 2x parent passes given on admission. If single parent then 2nd pass can be given to relative of own choosing.
- Siblings of patient 24hr access but must be accompanied by an adult.
- Families issued with x2 visitor passes. Allowed x2 visitors per day. Visitors who are under 14years old are not allowed on unit unless they are siblings.
- Visiting times 2pm-3pm & 5pm-6pm.
- All parents and visitors asked to follow hand washing policy in coming into unit and to wash hands in nursery and not to wear watches or jewellery other than wedding bands.
