Is MHARS for you?

If you live in Midlothian and are aged 18-65 years old, we can support you.
you don’t need to be referred by your GP or other health professionals.  Recovery is a personal journey and is unique to each person.  Although we cant do it for you, we can be there alongside you on the journey

What is MHARS?

The Mental Health and Resilience Service is a compassionate wellbeing service for people aged 18 to 65 in Midlothian.   If you are experiencing difficulties with your mental health, you can get rapid practical and emotional support through the MHARS helpline between 8am and 10pm daily.

Focussing on your needs, skills and strengths, our team can support you to reduce distress and feelings of overwhelm and take practical steps towards more positive wellbeing.

What to Expect?

When you call the service, there will be a brief initial conversation designed to gather information about your current situation in complete confidence.  Designing our support around your needs and choices, we will work with you to find out what matters most.
We’ll help you to identify and develop achievable goals, plans and strategies to improve your wellbeing and realise your potential.

Using out local knowledge, we can connect you into community resources helping you to access meaningful services and activities.
Support can also be tailored to include the people in your life such as carers, family, friends and other partner agencies.
