Your GP may refer directly to the Neurosurgical Team. The Consultant Neurosurgeons and Physiotherapy teams may review these referrals and on occasions feel the best place for you to start the management of your problem is either within Physiotherapy or within the Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner Clinics.
Any investigations or surgical opinions can be obtained through the Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner Clinics if indicated.

Meetings between Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners and Neurosurgical Consultants help to decide on surgical options and management.
These are known as Virtual Spinal Clinics.
Patients are discussed but not present at these meetings.
A full clinical history and examination results will be provided to the Neurosurgical Consultant along with any up to date investigations.
If appropriate, you will be referred directly to meet one of the Neurosurgical Team for a consultation.
