Welcome to the first step of the Lothian Care Academy Leadership Pathway.
Here you’ll find out about what the leadership pathway is and how to navigate it, including a brief introduction to what leadership is.
We’ve also included a self-reflection starter below, for you to have a think about where your skills already are, and what learning you might want to prioritise first.
Throughout the pathway you will find a variety of activities, these will be identified by icons:
Activities identified by this image may include watching a video, completing a work based activity or undertaking an online module

Look out for this icon, as we will provide questions to help prompt you in your learning, perhaps by asking you to consider key points or points of view.
Reflective practice is an important skill in a care career, there will be several points throughout the pathway when you will be encouraged to reflect on your learning and practice.
When you see this image you will be prompted to take some time to reflect
To help you capture your learning, we’ve created a reflective book which is downloadable to help you record your thinking and reflections as you make your way through the pathway.

Things to look out for as you explore the Leadership Pathway Resource:
