This in- person study day is designed to complement employers’ induction programmes, by offering an opportunity for newly appointed Clinical and Care Support Workers to learn and develop skills essential for providing quality person-led care, within the first 6 months of employment. It is delivered by NHS Lothian Clinical Education and Training team in collaboration with other specialist teams.

It is delivered in an interactive holistic manner, using practical activities with mannequins. This enables care support staff to understand the connections between the following topics and ultimately how to deliver holistic care rather than being task focused.
•Introduction to person led care
•Personal Hygiene
•Continence and Catheter Care
•Infection Control and Handwashing
•Oral Care
•Foot Care
•Food Fluid and Nutrition
