Providing information and resources to support you as an individual and also to help you provide support should you need to provide help to others.

Welcome to the Lothian Care Home, Home Support and Social Care Webpages!

These webpages have been developed to provide information and resources to all Care Homes, home support and social care staff working in Lothian. They have been developed by staff who work for NHS Lothian and the four Health and Social Care Partnerships in consultation with organisations such as Scottish Care and with review by the Lothian Care Home Manager Reference Group.

CHIT CHAT Newsletter

The NHS Lothian Care Home and Integrated Teams Chat newsletter is compiled by the Quality Improvement Team for Care Homes and Primary Care Settings with contributions from Integrated teams.

The newsletter aims to share the work carried out by the Integrated Teams with Care Home staff. The integrated teams include:

  • Health and Social Care Partnership (HCSP)
  • Tissue Viability (TV)
  • Health Protection Team (HPT)
  • Research
  • Quality Improvement (QI)
  • Clinical Education Team (CET)
  • Lothian Care Academy (LCA)

Secure Emails

For Care Homes and NHS services to communicate patient identifiable and confidential information the Care Home must have a secure email address.

Microsoft Teams

MS Teams – Some NHS education sessions and meetings (such as PAG’s) are run virtually and will be facilitated via Microsoft Teams video calling. If you are unfamiliar with MS Teams please the guide below which details how you can download the free app and some hints and tips on using the app.

It is managed by the Quality Improvement Team for Care Homes and Primary Care Settings and the Lothian Care Academy (Education pages) both of which come under the parent team of the Care Home Programme Team.

The information on the pages is written by the specialist team for each page. It is then either put on the website by the team themselves or uploaded by the Quality Improvement Team for Care Homes and Primary Care Settings or Lothian Care Academy (Education pages).

To our knowledge all information is correct and up-to-date at the time of upload.
