Last year, due to COVID-19, we had to make some big changes to the process of death certification and registration. We’re now reviewing those changes to ensure we are getting it right for families or if we could improve anything to make the process easier.
If someone close to you has died recently in an NHS Lothian Hospital then we may contact you in the coming weeks to see if you are ready to share your experience with us.
We understand you may not be ready to talk about your experience and that recalling memories and events around bereavement can raise difficult emotions. Please be aware that this is totally voluntary, and it is important you only participate if or when you would like to do so. If you would prefer to respond at a later date, even if it’s some weeks or months following your bereavement, that’s perfectly alright.
We would love to hear your feedback about your experience and your comments will be collated along with others to help improve the support and information that we provide.
We would like to ask you 3 questions –
1) What did we do well?
2) What did we not do well?
3) How could we improve things?
If you DO NOT wish to be contacted, you can opt out by contacting us at the Bereavement Service on 0131 242 6995 or you can email us at: bereavement.service@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk
If we haven’t contacted you but you still wish to participate in giving feedback then please contact us at the Bereavement Service on 0131 242 6995 or you can email us at: bereavement.service@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk
