The Aims of the Network
To ensure all people with respiratory conditions are given the right treatment, by the right person, at the right time and in the right place.
To minimise complications and premature death in those with respiratory conditions
Create an MCN work plan to support implementation, monitoring and reporting of local priorities for co-ordination and improvement in the delivery of respiratory care
To ensure that appropriate and accurate information is available in a suitable format and is effectively and reliably used by all those involved in respiratory care
To maximise the quality of life for those with respiratory conditions by detecting and treating conditions and its complications at an early stage.
To minimise the impact of deprivation, ethnicity and disadvantage on respiratory care and outcomes.
To provide equal access to high quality respiratory care for all residents of Lothian and enable people with respiratory conditions to be empowered to safely and effectively self-manage their condition by creating mutually agreed individualised care plans.
