Respiratory

The Respiratory Directorate is a comprehensive specialist service for patients with acute, chronic and palliative respiratory disorders and other medical problems complicated by these disorders.

The service is provided to Lothian and East of Scotland to give a high quality, safe and supportive environment in which to care for patients with identified physical and psychosocial needs related to respiratory diseases.

Health promotion and rehabilitation advice is delivered to this patient group by a highly effective multi-disciplinary team based in all three acute hospital sites in NHS Lothian with strong links to the community teams.

The service also provides access to research for patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions.
