National CJD NHS Nursing Service

The National CJD Nursing Service is a UK-wide, highly specialist support service for individuals living and dying with Creutzfeldt – Jakob Disease, (CJD) and their families. Funded by NHS England our service offers expert nursing advice, complex case management and symptomatic reviews for the duration of the CJD journey.

Our nurses have extensive experience in managing the complex and rapidly progressing nature of CJD providing clarity and support from diagnosis through to end-of-life care. Working alongside patients, families, and local healthcare teams, we ensure that care is person-centred, timely, and compassionate.

We also have management of the CJD National Care Fund, a specialist NHS fund ring fenced for CJD patient when the normal NHS routes are not suitable, please see our care fund page for more tailored advice.
