Support Resources for Staff & Managers

Both Care Home staff and managers can feel stress due to work and /or homelife, on this page are some resources that will provide you with information and advice to support yourself and the members of your team.

  • Psychological First Aid, and guidance on when people might need additional support
  • Working with people with vulnerabilities such as learning disabilities, dementia or people with pre-existing mental or physical health conditions

Public Health Scotland has produced animations to start the conversation and show all staff how to support people who may be experiencing mental distress.

Wellbeing Conversations
A wellbeing conversation is a supportive, one to one chat that focuses on a person’s health and wellbeing. The chat helps to identify areas where support maybe needed and signposts to that support.

An easy and practical way of helping you to support the mental health of your team members.
