The Mental Health Assessment Service (MHAS) will discuss the situation with the specialist Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists on call.
Typically, Outpatient teams offer appointments in hospitals and local health centres, however, in light of the current COVID-19 restrictions, your appointment with CAMHS may be over the telephone or Video Conferencing (NHS Near Me). They may work with you on your own, in a group, or with your family.
You may be referred to an outpatient team by your GP, social worker, teacher or another professional who knows you. They should take time to explain to you why they are contacting CAMHS.
