They run online and local support groups for carers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/Livewell\/eatingdisorders\/Pages\/eating-disorders-advice-parents.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">NHS Choices<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thenewmaudsleyapproach.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">The New Maudsley Approach<\/a>&nbsp;is a website run by carers and clinicians for families of people living with an eating disorder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcpsych.ac.uk\/become-a-psychiatrist\/choose-psychiatry\/what-is-psychiatry\/types-of-psychiatrist\/eating-disorders?searchTerms=eating%20disorders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Royal College of Psychiatrists<\/a><br>(They also have a dedicated section to helping you understand issues around&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rcpsych.ac.uk\/healthadvice\/partnersincarecampaign\/carersandconfidentiality.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">confidentiality<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/nobodiesperfecteatingdisorders.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">No Bodies Perfect<\/a>&nbsp;is a Glasgow-based charity for eating disorders and they run a carers support forum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also many websites dedicated to supporting carers where you can find out more about your rights and entitlements as a carer. There is however a lot of information available on the internet, and it can at times be overwhelming. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/carers.org\/our-work-in-scotland\/our-work-in-scotland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carers Trust &#8211; Scotland<\/a>\u00a0website may be a good place to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a carer you are entitled to a free carer\u2019s assessment of your own needs. To get a carer\u2019s assessment you will need to contact your local authority. There will also be carer\u2019s organisations local to you.
