For this reason, we have kept suggestions to a minimum. Other good websites are available, but many contain similar information and advice to those listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the organisation\u2019s name to visit their website:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.b-eat.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">B-eat<\/a>\u00a0is the UK\u2019s leading charity supporting anyone affected by an eating disorders or issues around food, weight and shape. The b-eat website offers lots of informative and helpful advice, information on online and local support groups, and message boards for anyone affected by an eating disorder.<br>B-eat has a helpline open 365 days a year from 1pm \u2013 9pm during the week, and 5pm\u20139pm on weekends and bank holidays.  The number in Scotland is 0808 801 0432<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mind.org.uk\/information-support\/types-of-mental-health-problems\/eating-problems\/about\/?o=6260#.VbD1VKNGWJ8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mind<\/a>&nbsp;are a UK charity supporting and empowering anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Mind is based mostly in England and Wales but the website has lots of useful information on eating disorders, other mental health conditions, treatment and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mind.org.uk\/information-support\/tips-for-everyday-living\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tips for everyday living<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 such as advice on work, student life and money.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mengetedstoo.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Men Get Eating Disorders Too<\/a>&nbsp;are a charity who aim to raise awareness of eating disorders in males and support anyone affected, including carers and families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mwcscot.org.uk\/the-law\/mental-health-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland<\/a>&nbsp;provides information on the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nice.org.uk\/guidance\/cg9\/chapter\/1-recommendations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE)<\/a>&nbsp;provide evidence-based guidance, advice, information, and quality standards for public health services such as the NHS and those who rely on it for care. Quality standards for eating disorders and their treatment are accessible at the link above.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/eating-disorders\/Pages\/Introduction.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NHS Choices<\/a>&nbsp;is the NHS website for Scotland and contains concise and reliable health information as well as information about NHS services local to you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/nobodiesperfecteatingdisorders.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">No Bodies Perfect<\/a>&nbsp;are a Scottish registered charity supporting adults affected by an eating disorder. Information and support is available through their website and local projects across Scotland. No Bodies Perfect also have \u2018Recovery Representative&#8217;s who act as positive role models, and provide hope, support and inspiration to those who are currently struggling with food and eating issues, showing that recovery is possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rcpsych.ac.uk\/expertadvice.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Royal College of Psychiatrists<\/a>&nbsp;provides well-researched and readable information on problems and disorders, including&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rcpsych.ac.uk\/mentalhealthinfoforall\/problems\/eatingdisorders\/eatingdisorders.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eating disorders<\/a>, treatment and well-being, and how mental health services work. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Below is a list of websites with eating disorder, health and mental-health related information which we hope you will find useful.
