Anything that does not fit in\u00a0these 2 areas will need to\u00a0be sent home. This is to comply with infection control measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Permitted items<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Decaffeinated tea or coffee<\/li><li>Single cup or mug (250ml size max)<\/li><li>Weather appropriate clothing, underwear and pyjamas<\/li><li>Indoor shoes and slippers<\/li><li>Toiletries<\/li><li>Hairdryer\/straighteners&nbsp; &#8211; electrical items&nbsp;need to be checked by hospital electricians&nbsp;to ensure they are safe before you use them on the unit<\/li><li>Phone and charger -phones and tablets should remain in your room at all times during your admission<\/li><li>Tablets\/laptops and chargers<\/li><li>Wireless headphones<\/li><li>Books\/magazines<\/li><li>Activities to entertain you e.g. colouring, craft projects etc. &#8211; any sharps will be removed and stored securely<\/li><li>Washing powder\/tablets &#8211; powder is provided, but you can bring your own if preferred<\/li><li>Current medication &#8211; this should be handed to staff on admission<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Items not permitted<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Drink containers\/juice bottles\/large mugs<\/li><li>Water or food&nbsp; &#8211; unless approved by staff<\/li><li>TV&#8217;s\/set top boxes &#8211;&nbsp;these are provided for patients on bed rest<\/li><li>Any sharps e.g.&nbsp;tweezers, scissors, craft tools and razors &#8211; please consider alternative hair removal methods<\/li><li>Any glassware e.g.&nbsp;vases, photo&nbsp;frames, drinking glasses<\/li><li>Any items of furniture<\/li><li>Pictures\/mirrors\/canvases other wall items e.g.&nbsp;bunting, fairy lights<\/li><li>Any items stored on the floor e.g.&nbsp;storage boxes, baskets<\/li><li>Own duvet covers, pillow cases, duvets<\/li><li>Live plants and flowers<\/li><li>Anything of value, large sums of money or food items<\/li><li>Unless essential, the delivery of parcels to the ward is discouraged<\/li><li>Fitbits and activity trackers &#8211; please consider alternative types of watches<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On admission to the unit you may wish to bring some personal items with you.
