Avoid lotions or moisturising products. If you require these for a medical condition, please discuss with your Orthotist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should wear a clean, tight fitting vest or t-shirt underneath your brace. Pulling this down will prevent wrinkling. For examples of Interface vests, please see \u201cuseful website\u201d links. You can put your normal&nbsp;clothes over your brace.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wearing your underwear and trousers over the brace will reduce skin irritation and makes it easier to go to the toilet.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making sure the brace is fastened securely will prevent rubbing\/skin breakdown and ensure your brace is effective. Your Orthotist will mark your straps as a guide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your brace should not cause your skin to breakdown, blister or bruise. Any skin redness should disappear within 20 minutes of the brace being off, if redness persists you must contact your Orthotist ASAP.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TOP TIP- You will get the best result from your brace if you make sure it is fastened securely and you are wearing if for the recommended amount of time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Getting your brace on and off&#8203; Thanks to our patients allowing these videos to be made and consenting to publication.
