We want you to have\u00a0all of the individual information and knowledge you wish\u00a0about your condition and care. To do this the service is staffed by a wide ranging team to provide holistic care\u00a0when you\u00a0become\u00a0a\u00a0patient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Scottish National Spine Service (SNSS)\u00a0exists to provide a comprehensive paediatric, adolescent and adult spinal service to the residents of Scotland. This service\u00a0was designated as a National Service\u00a0commissioned by\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nsd.scot.nhs.uk\/services\/specserv\/spinaldeformity\" target=\"_blank\">National Services Division in 2005<\/a>. To help with this we use\u00a0Patient\u00a0Pathways\u00a0as a basis of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We believe in listening and want to know if you feel &#8220;My surgery was successful&#8221; or not.\u00a0As part of this we offer you\u00a0Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs). We use the\u00a0British Spine Registry (BSR)\u00a0for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This picture\u00a0is from October 2017\u00a0showing\u00a0a patient\u00a0on the 3rd\u00a0day after spine\u00a0surgery for scoliosis. She was\u00a0on her way home that day,\u00a0well done! Another success for the\u00a0Enhanced Recovery Pathway (ERP) begun Spring 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The spinal operations are performed at two hospitals in Edinburgh: the new\u00a0Royal Hospital for Children and Young People\u00a0and\u00a0new Department of Clinical Neurosciences in an area on the South side of Edinburgh called Edinburgh Bioquarter.<br>Clinics are held at these hospitals and the new Royal Hospital for\u00a0Children, Govan, Glasgow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This web site is to help&nbsp;you to achieve your goals and while&nbsp;giving&nbsp;you the&nbsp;safest and best&nbsp;care.
