This might include a telephone or video consultation or directing you to another local health service closer to home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to attend a hospital in person you will be given a suitable appointment time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Call NHS 24 free on 111 for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access to urgent care that is not a critical emergency&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advice on minor injuries including minor cuts, burns, sprains or insect bites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to urgent mental health advice and guidance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For immediate advice when your GP surgery or dentist is closed and you are too ill to wait<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also&nbsp;access NHS 24 and 111:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Via textphone by calling 18001 111<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you&#8217;re deaf but want to use the phone service you can use the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/contactscotland-bsl.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Contact SCOTLAND-BSL interpreting video relay service<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nhs24.com\/contactus\/otherlanguages\/\" target=\"_blank\">Other languages &#8211; NHS 24 and 111<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By&nbsp;visiting&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nhsinform.scot\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.nhsinform.scot<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GENERAL&nbsp;PRACTITIONERS (GP)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For all routine health matters,&nbsp;including repeat prescriptions, or urgent care&nbsp;contact your own&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/GPs\">GP practice<\/a>&nbsp;during normal opening times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Most GP practices operate Monday to Friday 8am &#8211; 6pm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use our online&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhsinform.scot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GP finder&nbsp;<\/a>to find your GP&#8217;s phone number or to find the GP practices nearest your home<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GP practices are open and now provide more ways to access care with GP practice teams&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">COMMUNITY&nbsp;PHARMACIES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a minor illness or minor health condition your local pharmacy can provide expert help and advice quickly and without an appointment.
